Norfolk, VA – Lieutenant Governor candidate and Norfolk Councilmember Andria McClellan announced she raised more than $230,000 since officially launching her campaign in December.
“I continue to be honored and deeply grateful to the A-Team for their generous support of my campaign,” said Andria McClellan. “As I’ve talked to Virginians, one thing is clear: people want action. From speeding up the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine to increasing access to affordable broadband and healthcare, Virginians are focused on the need for a strong recovery from the health and economic impacts of the Coronavirus pandemic, so that our Commonwealth can continue to grow and thrive.”
After launching the Access for Virginia PAC in July, McClellan officially announced her campaign for Lieutenant Governor on December 1st, 2020, providing only one month to raise funds before the mandated Q4 reporting deadline. More than 88 percent of her donors live in the Commonwealth of Virginia and more than half of donors made grassroots contributions of $100 or less. In the report, the campaign shared it holds more than $215,000 cash-on-hand.
McClellan has served as a member of the Norfolk City Council representing Superward 6 since 2016. Throughout her tenure on the council, she has served her 125,000 constituents by focusing on a pro-growth, innovative platform that includes improving broadband access, diversifying the economy through support of small business and workforce development, finding solutions and funding to address flooding and climate mitigation, and creating a more engaged, accessible, and transparent city government.
