This evening, Andria McClellan, a member of the Norfolk City Council and candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Virginia, led the field during the People’s Debate with a clear, concise and pragmatic plan for making government in the Commonwealth work for all Virginians.

Councilwoman Andria McClellan, candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Virginia, has released the following statement:

“I am grateful for the opportunity to share my ideas and my voice as part of the People’s Debate. Tonight I was able to make clear that I’m running for Lieutenant Governor to continue our work of expanding access to opportunity and breaking down barriers for all Virginians who are struggling to get ahead.

Serving in local government has taught me how to be an effective listener, an advocate, and an ally. I’ll put those skills to work as Lieutenant Governor to continue making progress on criminal justice reform, climate change, the digital divide, and stopping the GOP’s attacks on our health care.

Virginia is moving forward, further, and faster, and I look forward to building a stronger future together. Over the next 89 days, I will take every opportunity to share my story, my priorities and my passions with Virginians in every corner of the Commonwealth. ”
