Forty Percent of Surveyed Voters are Supporting Andria McClellan days out from Primary Day
The Andria McClellan for Virginia team made nearly 80,000 voter contact attempts during the weekend proceeding Election Day. Data collected across Virginia between June 5th through 6th show nearly 40 percent of voters surveyed are supporting Andria McClellan. The same data show 50.4 percent of voters are still undecided just 48 hours out from Primary Day.
“Our campaign isn’t taking any vote for granted,” said Tova Yampolsky, Andria for Virginia Campaign Manager. “Throughout this campaign, our team has put a strategic focus on our direct voter contact efforts, especially in the key region of Hampton Roads, and highlighting Andria’s strong message of equitable access to opportunity for all. Plain and simple, Virginians are supporting Andria McClellan.”
Between now and polls closing on Tuesday, the campaign expects to make tens of thousands of voter contact attempts. Since January 1st, 250,000 voter contact attempts have been made through phone calls, texts, knocking doors and relational organizing.
“I’m running to create pathways to opportunity, address Virginia’s historic inequities, and break down barriers,” said Councilmember Andria McClellan. “My message of equitable access to opportunity is resonating with Virginians, and I look forward to putting my skills, knowledge and experience to work as the commonwealth’s first female Lieutenant Governor.”
McClellan has raised over $860,000 in direct contributions since announcing her candidacy. At the end of the last quarter, she reported the highest percentage of in-state donors in the Democratic field for Lieutenant Governor.
As a current Norfolk City Councilmember representing the largest constituency of any candidates running for Lieutenant Governor, Andria McClellan is the strongest candidate to beat Republican Lieutenant Governor nominee and former Delegate from Norfolk, Winsome Sears.
